		Sunken garden A sunken area creates a welcome change of level in the otherwise flat plot. It also provides another place to sit and enjoy the scent and colour of the surrounding garden. A lined area with a layer of shingle, prevents it filling up with water and allow excess moisture to drain away into the surrounding soil.
		Terracing Sleepers stacked on top of one can be used to hold back the soil at the edge of a sunken area and create informal terracing. The terraces themselves, create planting pockets at different levels to allow the plants to cascade down the sides.
		Pergolas The pergola is a fantastic feature with a variety of uses. Covered walk ways, shading and protection for a koi pond and much more. A Pergola is a very versatile, impressive and cost effective garden accessory.  This pergola creates a secluded place to relax and enjoy the scent of surrounding planting and the restful sound of the trickling water from the water feature. As the vines become established this will provide cooling shade during the hot summer months.
		Stone monolith water feature The focal point of this sunken garden is a large stone monolith that was lifted into place with a crane. A hole was drilled through the middle to allow water to bubble up through the centre. This was placed on a sheet of galvanised mesh and supported with concrete blocks to carry the heavy weight.
		Patios & Decking The patio or decking areas provide a place where the whole family can sit or gather together for meals. This paving was carefully chosen to blend in with the sleepers used throughout this garden. Paved patios or stepped decking also add interesting variations which can compliment a small waterfall when used to surround your garden pond or water feature.
